Apparently her father, The Archangel Michael, wants Trinity’s human needs- like money- taken care of so she can focus on stopping the harbinger. Trin’s mind goes to how Zayne still loves Layla. She and Zayne both lost someone special to them and they bonded over that.

Trin then brings up Stacy, and Zayne tells her they are close. Zayne asks who she was talking to, and not wanting to make him feel uneasy over this, she blows it off as nothing. Trinity tries to talk to the ghost to see if she can help it pass on- this is what she is assuming he wants, but he disappears without getting much info. During the visit, Trin notices a ghost who has wondered into Zayne’s apartment and it isn’t Peanut. Leyla, Roth, and, Zayne’s ex, Stacy come for a visit and Trinity’s jealousy monster springs. There have been stirrings and unease in the supernatural community as wardens have been showing up dead. Zayne and Trinity have taken to haunting the streets at night in search of the Harbinger. Knowing she had to kill him, but not missing him any less. Not only that, but Trinity is still dealing with Misha’s loss and betrayal.

They must put any and all feelings aside from finding and destroying the Harbinger away. It is forbidden for a protector and their trueborn charges (aka half-angel-humans) to fall in love. They are still attracted to each other but know they cannot be. As such, a bond is formed between the two and they can feel what the other does. Zayne is alive and has taken the oath to be Trinity’s protector.
